Wow. Last year I was at 50,000 words already. I still have 20,000 words to go. I finished disaster 1 in my outline and when Jackson was introduced, I hit a wall! And as we can tell by the dates listed here, this is my way of procrastinating. Though, I am sure when I get home I will have creative juices flowing.

Right now, I am trying to incorporate some of my futuristic elements for 2060 that I researched and put it subtley into the novel. Its tricky though, since I don’t have names for some things. Like the designer baby firm I want. Of course, I also didn’t plan for what people wear in Kansas in 2060, I didn’t really get that far. I worked on things like underground and left out all the above ground details. That’s likely why I am stuck! Oh well, I have three days off, I am sure I will get it worked out by then!

Synopsis: Promise Land

Setting: Promise Land(Underground) and Topeka, Kansas(above ground) – Year 2060 (48 years after the ‘apocolypse’ that never happened)

Manipulation and lies leads an ambitious man on the path to becoming the voice of God. Colby has been working since he was six to be the Prophet. When the Prophet died, he finally got his wish. That is until Jackson appeared out of nowhere! A man that looks like a younger version of the Prophet, ’sent from God’ as the people say. He stole Colby’s dream right from underneath him. That’s not all the strange man stole. Colby’s wife used to be a woman of God fearing obedience, before she disappeared with the so-called Prophet. When Colby finally figures out where Jackson actually came from, he learns more about the world above ground than he ever wanted to. Colby will do anything, including murder, to get his position as Prophet away from Jackson.
